The acceptance of course or program of study from one educational institution to another. There is very wide variation in procedures and criteria among 4-year institutions and even among individual departments. Some colleges have special articulation agreements with particular four-year schools (e.g., 2+2 agreements, in which model curricula have been negotiated that enable completion in four years).
